Land Use at Fresno BHC

Building healthy places through smart, community-driven planning.

Why Land Use Equity Matters in Fresno

Land use planning dictates where highways are built, where parks are placed, and where toxic industrial facilities are permitted. For decades, South and West Fresno have carried an unjust environmental burden through heavy industrial rezoning and highway expansion, resulting in hazardous air quality and severe park deficits. Responsible land use means giving residents the power to decide how land is developed, ensuring every neighborhood has clean air, safe green spaces, and protected buffer zones.

Land Use Equity

We advocate for responsible land-use policies and practices that reflect environmental stewardship, repair historic redlining, and recognize the vital connection between physical space and human health.
