About Fresno BHC

We are dedicated to building a long-term foundation for a healthier community with a legacy that will be carried on for years to come through the leadership of everyday people. Our Mission

To foster and encourage thriving communities where all children and families can live healthy, safe, and productive lives.

Our Vision

A world where all children and families have access to the opportunities and resources they need to thrive.

Government Accountability

Measure P is entering its fifth year in effect thanks to Fresno BHC’s successful lawsuit but instead the City of Fresno is dragging out a dispute over legal fees from the lawsuit that upheld its passage.

Community Engagement

In 2024, we hosted 154 events to connect with our neighbors and learn about the issues they care about while sharing information with 7,509 residents.

Youth
Leadership

We empower young people by offering paid internships and scholarships that enable them to continue to study, work, and contribute positively to their community.

Our Values Guide Everything

We are guided by core values that reflect our commitment to building relationships, collaboration, and shared accountability.

Community Voice

We believe in furthering our community’s priorities and are committed to listening to their voices and expertise.

Youth Voice

We support the voice and active engagement of youth, who will be our community’s next generation of leaders.

People of Color Led

We are led by and work for the rights of people of color and for the benefit of all our neighbors.

Solidarity

We work in solidarity with partners and allies who share our values across age, race, sexual orientation, class, gender, faith, language, and immigration status.

Inclusion

We value including diverse voices and welcome those who share and demonstrate our core values to join the coalition.

Equity

We believe that attention and resources must be prioritized for communities that need them most so that disparities in life outcomes can be reduced and eventually eliminated.

Collaboration

We are stronger when we work together. We practice shared responsibility and leadership and maintain our commitment to one another.

Accountability

We hold decision-makers and ourselves accountable to be receptive to the needs and wishes of our community.

Our Strategy & Core Activities

We are dedicated to building a long-term foundation for a healthier community by increasing our community’s capacity to achieve policy and systems transformations that promote equity and justice.

Our work is underpinned by core activities that leverage and build on the strength and history of our community.
