Benefits Available for Workers Impacted by COVID-19
The California Labor and Workforce Development Agency has put together a chart of benefits available for workers impacted by COVID-19. You may be eligible for paid sick leave, disability, unemployment, and other benefits. Contact the Employment Development Department for more information.
Unemployment Insurance (UI) Work Sharing Program
Employers can apply for the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Work Sharing Program if reduced production, services, or other conditions cause them to seek an alternative to layoffs. The Work Sharing Program provides employees a percentage of their weekly wages as long as employers maintain health and retirement benefits. Work Sharing benefits are charged to the employer’s reserve account.
