Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Fresno BHC Youth Internships Now Open!

Hey Fresno Students!
Looking to earn some money, gain real-world experience, and make a positive impact in your community at the same time? Look no further—Fresno Building Healthy Communities (Fresno BHC) is offering a paid Youth Internship Program just for you! We especially want to hear from English learners, foster youth, Black, Brown, and Southeast Asian students—basically anyone who’s been left out of paid internships in the past.

Why This Internship Is Awesome

  1. Real Community Impact
You’ll get to tackle health and wellness challenges right in our neighborhoods. Whether you’re raising awareness about important health topics or helping people get outdoors, you’ll be doing work that truly matters.
  2. Hands-On Experience
This isn’t just another volunteer gig. You’ll get paid $17 per hour while exploring your talents, interests, and potential career paths.
  3. Leadership & Advocacy Skills
Learn how to speak up for important causes, connect with different communities, and coordinate events—all great skills for life after high school.

Two Tracks Available

  1. Promotoritos (Jr. Community Health Workers)
    • Team up with the Immigrant Refugee Coalition work alongside experienced Community Health Workers to help connect residents to resources and info to help stay healthy.
  2. Outdoor Youth Ambassadors (OYAs)
    • Show off your love for parks and open spaces.
    • Plan fun outdoor events and rally people to protect and expand green areas in the Central Valley.
