Fighting for Health and Justice in South Fresno
In South Fresno, where families are already burdened by some of the state’s worst air pollution, a new highway expansion threatens to bring more heavy-duty trucks, industrial buildout, and toxic emissions into their neighborhoods. Community advocates, including Fresno Building Healthy Communities and Friends of Calwa, refuse to stand by and let it happen. In a complex legal fight supported by the Environmental Justice Law and Advocacy Clinic at Yale Law School, we are challenging the state’s environmental review process and demanding that public agencies put health, equity, and justice first.
