Ten Years of Healthy Fun: Well-O-Ween Returns for Its 10th Anniversary Celebration

For ten years, Fresno BHC has proven that Halloween can be both spooky and healthy, a celebration of community, joy, and well-being for every generation.

This October, we’re thrilled to invite families back for our 10th Annual Well-O-Ween, one of our most beloved community events. It’s a Fresno tradition that combines costumes, laughter, healthy snacks, and good vibes into one unforgettable night.

A Fresno Tradition Born from Community Love

When we hosted the very first Well-O-Ween a decade ago, we had a simple idea: Could Halloween be fun, inclusive, and good for you?

The answer was a resounding yes.

Over the years, what started as a small neighborhood gathering has grown into a celebration that brings together hundreds of families from across Fresno.

We wanted to show families that health doesn’t have to be boring. You can celebrate, eat well, and still enjoy every bit of Halloween magic. From the moment kids arrive, dressed in their costumes, you can feel the energy. There’s music in the air and parents taking pictures. It’s our way of adding health and heart to what is already a special day.

This year’s event will include:

  • Raffles
  • Haunted House
  • Trunk or Treat
  • Resource Fair
  • Food Distribution

10 Years of Impact

Each October, hundreds of families show up to enjoy Halloween together and to leave feeling good in every way. Events like this remind us that health starts right here, with people coming together.

The resource fair connects residents to services for housing, food, and mental health. Our food distribution provides fresh groceries and information about long-term support to our local families. The message is simple. Health can be part of everyday life when the community has what it needs.

This year’s Well-O-Ween is powered by organizations that work year-round to lift up Fresno families:

  • Cultiva La Salud
  • UFW Foundation
  • Tenants Together
  • Familia in Acción
  • Central California Food Bank

Each partner contributes to the larger picture of what community health looks like: food access, housing rights, worker protection, and family support.

What to Expect

Our 10th anniversary celebration promises something for everyone:

  • Trunk or Treat with decorated cars and healthy snack giveaways
  • Haunted house designed to be spooky, a little scary, and a lot of fun
  • Raffles and prizes throughout the day
  • Food distribution with fresh items for local families
  • Resource fair featuring community organizations ready to help

Costumes are encouraged, music will be playing, and the atmosphere will be filled with energy and family fun.

After a decade, Well-O-Ween has grown into one of our favorite events of the year. Last year, we welcomed nearly 500 families. This year, we think that number is going to grow even bigger.

If you’ve never been to Well-O-Ween, this is the year to come. Bring your family, your friends, and your costume. Be part of a Fresno story that is still being written.
